Hip Pain Treatment in Athens, GA

At Grand Oak Healthcare, chiropractic care goes far beyond treating the spine. We provide conservative, non-surgical treatment for hip pain, hip stiffness, muscle and tendon injuries, bursitis-related symptoms, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Hip pain can develop from an injury, repetitive activity, muscle imbalances, restricted mobility, or age-related changes—and it can make everything from walking and climbing stairs to exercising, working, and sleeping uncomfortable.

Our approach to hip pain treatment may include Active Release Techniques® (ART), soft-tissue therapy, joint mobilization, stretching, and individualized rehabilitation exercises. ART and other hands-on techniques can help address tight or painful muscles and soft tissues surrounding the hip, while targeted rehabilitation focuses on improving hip mobility, flexibility, strength, balance, and stability. Particular attention may be given to the gluteal muscles, hip flexors, hamstrings, and other muscles responsible for controlling the hip and pelvis during everyday movement.

Hip Pain Isn't Always Just a Hip Problem

The hip is an important link between your spine and lower extremities. Problems involving the lower back, pelvis, sacroiliac (SI) joint, knee, foot, or ankle can change the way you walk and place additional stress on the hip. Likewise, limited hip mobility or weakness can affect the mechanics of the lower back and knees.

That's why our chiropractors don't simply focus on the location of your pain. We evaluate how the hip moves, how the surrounding muscles function, and how your lower back, pelvis, and lower extremities work together. By identifying and addressing these mechanical and functional problems, we can develop a treatment plan designed specifically for you.

Whether your hip pain is related to sports, work, an old injury, overuse, or simply the wear and tear of everyday life, our goal is to help decrease pain, restore movement, improve strength, and get you back to doing the things you enjoy.

At Grand Oak Healthcare, we don't just treat the spine—we treat the entire musculoskeletal system to help you move better, feel better, and live better.
